Description

The Ferret Capture was written by Andrew Licht when he was 9-years old. He drew the illustrations when he was 10. The book describes his real-life adventure spotlighting endangered black-footed ferrets in the prairies of western South Dakota with his dad and brother, and biologists from government agencies and conservation organizations. He describes the gear and the methods that biologist use to survey, capture, mark, and then release wild ferrets. The second part of the book contains information of black-footed ferret conservation, ecology, and the prairie ecosystem. Andrew’s writings and illustrations are complemented with photographs from Pronghorn Productions.
