Housed in the historic Little Brick Schoolhouse, the museum at PWSS features a collection of historical artifacts which chronicle the history of Val Marie and Grasslands National Park.
The collection contains artifacts that detail the settler and ranching heritage of the community, and feature a display of cowboy hats previously owned by local ranchers and an old-school western leather saddle. The collection is also comprised of a number of archival items including the Val Marie Hospital minute book, educational materials from when the schoolhouse was still in operation and a vintage typewriter. Fossils, plants, and animals found in the collection illustrate the natural history of the prairie landscape and wildlife.
We are currently working with the Museums Association of Saskatchewan to provide online access to our collections through SaskCollections. Watch for that to appear here in 2021.
