June 7 – September 10, 2023
A multi-artist exhibition
sponsored by Grasslands Gallery Online
Saskatchewan’s only fully online professional commercial art gallery, based in Val Marie
www.grasslandsgallery.com

A summer in Saskatchewan is like no other, with endless days, expanses, vistas. And yet it also happens in close-up, asking for our attention to our gardens, the wild birds, and the textures of old houses, old dreams and old topography.
Thoughts of a Prairie Summer brings together beautiful art by outstanding contemporary artists from across Saskatchewan, exploring what summer means to all of us. Whether you’re viewing still life and florals, pure abstraction, an artist’s imaginary worlds, or landscape that evokes the human element, all the works shown here are beautiful to look at, well-made, innovative and compelling.
The artworks in Thoughts of a Prairie Summer are available to purchase at Prairie Wind & Silver Sage and online at grasslandsgallery.com (with more artworks from each artist), where they can be shipped worldwide.
The Apron Exhibition – Museum Gallery
Aprons and stories from women and kitchens of Val Marie and area, as curated by Madonna Hamel. The exhibition aims to touch on the ways women’s aprons excel in form and function and, in turn, have touched our lives in ways we may not have considered. We hope you embrace the apron in a new way, the way it has literally embraced so many of us.
