Prairie Wind & Silver Sage accepts donations for the Burrowing Owl Program at Grasslands National Park!
Burrowing owls are an endangered species. Today, their Canadian range is limited to Southeast Alberta and Southwest Saskatchewan. Grasslands National Park is home to a number of remaining breeding pairs. The availability of nesting habitat provided by Black-tailed prairie dog colonies is an important part of their survival.
The Burrowing Owl Program supports the young owlets, increasing the odds of surviving. Data suggest that conservation efforts have helped by slowing down, and possibly reversing, the owl population decline in the park.
How can you help? You can donate in-person at Prairie Wind & Silver Sage, or online at canadahelps.org. Donations over $20 CAD are eligible for a tax receipt, and all donations help!
