Prairie Wind & Silver Sage accepts donations for the Burrowing Owl Supplemental Feeding Program at Grasslands National Park!
Burrowing owls are an endangered species. Today, their Canadian range is limited to Southeast Alberta and Southwest Saskatchewan. Grasslands National Park is home to several of the remaining breeding pairs, also thanks to the availability of nesting habitat provided by Black-tailed prairie dog colonies.
The feeding program provides supplemental food to the young owlets, increasing the odds of survival. Data suggest the program is helping by slowing down, and possibly reversing, the owl population decline in the park.
How can you help? You can donate in-person at Prairie Wind & Silver Sage, or online at canadahelps.org. Donations over $20 CAD are eligible for a tax receipt, and all donations help!
